A Mild Delusion

A Mild Delusion

Do we suffer a mild delusion?
The wish to dance in rains
When harmattan comes
Harvest bodies of fish
In the dreadful drought
And drink our stomachs’ fill
The real freedom’s ecstasy
On the land we were birthed.

Do we suffer a mild delusion
That we count
In the scheme of power
And the duties they direct
Who finds stars in the
Mouth of a water bottle ?
We are all not Sufis.

Do we suffer a mild delusion
That women love
And men are selfless ?
The stories told are not fables
Do not be forced to believe
One man for himself!
To all, God always belong.

Do we suffer a mild delusion
That we actually matter ?
When your name is not called
Nothing changes.
But hope is not for tomorrow
And I do not hope to teach
For I am as well delusional.
If it is a good state, then we be!
